Will Jay-Z's Weed SPAC Dominate the Entire Cannabis Industry? | Voices of Wall Street

Jay-Z-and Roc Nation launched a cannabis SPAC called The Parent Company based on a wager that nationwide weed legalization is just around the corner.

"I'm 100% confident that prohibition of cannabis will end within the next 12-24 months," The Parent Company's Michael Auerbach told Voices of Wall Street's Dion Rabouin in February 2021.

His prediction is already starting to come true, with New York, New Mexico, and Virginia legalizing adult-use cannabis in the past few months.

In this clip, the cannabis entrepreneur talks about the SPAC's plans to collaborate with investors like Rihanna, DJ Khaled, and Meek Mill, as well as how it will support entrepreneurs of color in the industry.

FuboTV Bear Gives Company Slim Chance of Surviving Streaming Wars | Voices of Wall Street

In a new "Voices of Wall Street," host Hope King speaks with Andrew Freedman, Hedgeye's Communications Sector Head, about his bear case for fuboTV.

fuboTV, along with many investors, is optimistic about the opportunity in streaming subscriptions, connected TV advertising, and sports betting. However, Freedman says the company has a small probability of surviving due to the "structurally unprofitable, broken" business model.

Freedman adds that fuboTV is expanding into sports betting because it knows the streaming business is unsustainable as a standalone unit, but argues the costs of launching a sportsbook will be difficult to manage. Freedman admits there are two paths for fuboTV to achieve long-term success, and lays out the scenarios for fuboTV to emerge as a winner in the streaming wars.

FuboTV’s CEO on How Sports Betting Will Change Streaming | Voices of Wall Street

In a new "Voices of Wall Street," host Dion Rabouin speaks with FuboTV CEO David Gandler about the streaming company's upcoming sportsbook launch, competition from Dish and DraftKings' partnership, and keeping losses in check despite a ramp up in product investments.

Media and live streaming companies are racing to capitalize on the synergies presented by integrating sports wagering capabilities into live TV viewing. The sports betting market has been accelerating at a rapid clip as states across the country cozy up to legalized wagering. Revenue in the U.S. grew to $1.57 billion in 2020, up from $920 million in 2019, and is projected to grow to $5.8 billion by 2023.

FuboTV is now doubling down to capture sports fans fleeing cable, and the company is betting that sports gambling will not only attract more users, but will also offer new customers a unique entertainment experience.

FuboTV's Plan to Dominate Streaming and Sports Betting | Voices of Wall Street

FuboTV sits at the intersection of three red-hot trends that investors are chomping at the bit to gain exposure to. Think Roku, YouTubeTV, and DraftKings all rolled up into one company.

That’s the dream scenario for FuboTV CEO and Co-Founder David Gandler, who joined “Voices of Wall Street” for an interview to discuss the sports-first streaming service’s massive opportunity to capitalize on cord-cutters abandoning cable TV and legalized sports betting gaining traction across the US.

In this clip, Gandler tells host Dion Rabouin how FuboTV plans to dominate its competitors in streaming (Hulu, Netflix, YouTube TV) and sports betting (Draft Kings and Barstool Sports).
